So Hip it Hurts Toronto

25th Anniversary Graphic | Print Production

For So Hip It Hurts’ 25th anniversary, I was asked to design a shop deck that captured the raw, authentic energy that defines Toronto’s oldest skateboard shop. The owners wanted something that truly represented their spirit: gritty, proud, and unapologetic. The result was the “Blood, Sweat, and Beers” graphic, a design that pays tribute to the community and culture they’ve built over the decades, and its tradition of handing out a cold one to their loyal customers. The deck became an instant hit, selling out almost immediately and cementing itself as a true collector’s piece.

“Working with Kelly has been such a creative boost for So Hip. They got our brand right away — the grit, the humour, and the nostalgia that make us who we are — and helped us level it up without losing any of that. From the anniversary deck to our new clothing designs and social media, Kelly brought a style and personality that feels completely us. Thanks to them, we can sell our products not just across Canada, but all over the world. It’s rare to find someone who just gets it like that.”

“Kelly has completely changed the game for us. They came in, cleaned up our look, redesigned the website, and made everything feel current while still keeping that old-school So Hip vibe. Because of Kelly, we’re now selling our products online to customers all over the world, which has been huge for the business. Every project, from the anniversary graphic to our new tees, turned out even better than we imagined. You can tell Kelly really cares about what they do and the people they’re doing it for.”
