Midnight’s Little Monsters

I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with author Maxwell Knox on his debut poetry collection, Midnight’s Little Monsters. As the Art Director & Graphic Designer, I brought his words to life visually – illustrating each poem, selecting the typography, and designing the cover, page layouts, and colour palette to reflect the book’s emotional depth and late-night introspection. This project was a true labour of love, evolving beyond the book itself as several of the illustrations were later adapted into posters. Working with Max to shape the visual identity of his first poetry book was a deeply rewarding creeative experience.

“Working with Kelly was nothing short of inspiring. From the very beginning, they understood the heart of Midnight’s Little Monsters and brought a visual language to it that felt honest, emotional, and alive. Every detail, from the illustrations to the typography and colour palette, perfectly captured the soul of my writing. Kelly’s creative vision elevated the entire project into something far beyond what I ever imagined. They didn’t just design a book; they helped me build a world. Collaborating with Kelly was an absolute joy, and I couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, talented, and passionate creative partner.”
